Tiger Woods Set to Open Public Golf Course at Big Cedar Lodge
TIGER DESIGNS NEW COURSE FOR PUBLIC
For our older readers, think of your favorite golfer growing up…
Chances are they have designed a course and you have either played one, or dream of playing one.
For us younger folk, most of our favorite golfers are either still on tour, or battling a back injury.
That guy battling the back injury, Tiger Woods, is set to open his first course design. And it’s a public course.
The course is set to open at Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale, Mo. Already the home of five golf courses, the land is owned by Bass Pro Shops owner, Johnny Morris. The course Wood’s will be designing is named “Payne’s Valley”, after the late great Payne Stewart, a native of Missouri.
On April 12th, Tiger Woods tweeted “I’ve always wanted to design a public course” He also added, “I’m very happy that my TGR Design company will make a big announcement next week.”
How cool would it be to play a course designed by the golfer so many young kids grew up idolizing, much like the older folks who idolized Palmer and Nicklaus.
The cool thing about this design? The course is actually 19 holes — the 19th hole actually being a hole, not the bar. He is also designing a par-3 course on the same land.
Woods has designed two courses already, but neither are public courses.
All of this is set to open in 2019 and it is a kids dream to play a course designed by the great Tiger Woods.
Start saving up your pennies now college kids, the drive/flight to Missouri wont be cheap, never mind the greens fees.
